In this episode of Intermittent Fasting Stories, Gin talks to Jennifer Banek. Jennifer is a certified registered nurse anesthetist who is also a member of the Army Reserves.
Jennifer had always been physically fit, running a yearly marathon, but still struggled with her weight. Around 2017, she gave IF a try, but wasn’t fasting clean. She stopped IFing because it was too hard, yet Jennifer simply did not know the science behind the clean fast.
In the Fall 2019, Jennifer was stationed in the Middle East, and decided to “reset” her eating habits and try to lose weight. She heard about IF from two girlfriends while she was there, and then heard about the IF Stories podcast in one of her CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) groups. Once she began to listen to the podcast, Jennifer learned about the clean fast, and why it made all the difference. She immediately began to clean fast in November 2019.
The advice Jennifer would give to new IFers: “The clean fast is key to long term success. Give IF time. Change and adjust before giving up!”
