Season 1

Episode 153: Holly Cook

In this episode of Intermittent Fasting Stories, Gin talks to Holly Cook from Sacramento, CA.

Are you looking for intermittent fasting support in a cozy community that celebrates the clean fast?  Join us on the Delay, Don’t Deny Social Network!  Instead of relying on the big social network most of us have been on for years, we now have a community that is completely separate and just for us, with a variety of groups you can join for the support and community you need.

You can connect directly with Gin in the Ask Gin group, and she’ll answer all of your questions personally.  If you’re new to intermittent fasting or recommitting to the IF lifestyle, join the 28-Day FAST Start group, and both Gin and the other group members will walk virtually beside you each day of your FAST Start.

Members of the DDD Social Network have access to all episodes of Intermittent Fasting Stories streaming within the DDDSN platform, ad-free!  That’s just one reason to join.

Visit dddsocialnetwork.com  to join our membership community. An annual membership is $59.95.  If you aren’t ready to fully commit for a year, join for $9.99 a month and you can cancel at any time. If you know you’ll want to stay forever, we also have a lifetime membership option available.

IF is free. You don’t need to join our community to fast. But if you’re looking for support from a community of like-minded IFers, we are here for you at dddsocialnetwork.com.

Holly is a speech pathologist. In December of 2019, Holly learned about IF on a morning news program, and she immediately began with a 12:12 protocol. She gradually moved to 16:8.

Holly’s starting weight was 150 pounds, and by November of 2020, she reached her 120-pound goal weight! She maintains within a 120-125 pound range, which gives her more freedom. Now in maintenance, Holly varies her daily fasts based on how she is feeling that day.

Holly’s health has improved since beginning IF. Her PMS symptoms have resolved and her eczema is gone. She also needs less thyroid medication.

Holly’s advice to new IFers: “Know what the clean fast is. Start slow, and see how it goes! Have patience, and know that IF is not quick weight loss. Find support with like-minded people.”

Holly has an IF Facebook support group called, Sacramento Fasters. You may also find her at: cookspeechandlanguage.com
